The Versatile Blogger Award

versatile blogger awardHi everyone!

First of all, I want to say I’m sorry I haven’t been as active as I would have liked to these past couple weeks. Work has kept me busy, but I miss writing posts! I try to read blog posts as often as I can though.

Last month, Hannah and Kyle from But first, fiction nominated me in the Versatile Blogger Award, and I’m so thankful! I truly TRULY appreciate it, and I wasn’t expecting it at all, it was such a lovely surprise. Thank you so much to you both, and please go check out their post and blog, I loved reading the seven things they chose to share about themselves ✨ Writing this post took me a while, and in the meantime, the lovely Clara from The Bookworm of Notre-Dame nominated me as well which I was so surprised to see! Both her post and her blog are amazing, so definitely go check out her blog! Thank you so much Clara, it means a lot 💖

Here are the rules for the Versatile Blogger Award:

🎮 There are two video game series called Dragon Age & Mass Effect that mean a whole lot to me. Dragon Age is the reason I picked up the book Truthwitch by Susan Dennard, one of my favourite series of all time. I also made some really amazing friends, people that mean a lot to me thanks to this game. And Mass Effect is so important to me; it’s the game I turn too when I’m feeling nervous for example and I have at least one replay of the whole trilogy every year. For actual years, my phone background has been fanart of Commander Shepard and Garrus Vakarian from Mass Effect. Both these games always feel like coming home when I play them.

🎨 I have two tattoos (so far). My first one is on my forearm and it’s the words “past, present and future” and it took me one full year to decide to get it. I love it and I have no regrets. It means so much to me. I got my second one last september, it’s quite hard to describe it but it’s basically an old castle tower with tree roots underneath it. After I saw the design, I took the decision that I simply had to get it in about fifteen minutes. Yes, minutes, the complete opposite of my first one. It was a Thursday and I got the tattoo on the Saturday of the same week.

📓 I read an abridged version of Les Misérables by Victor Hugo when I was in school. I was 12 or 13, and it was required reading; I can’t really remember much of the story or even what I thought about it at the time? But I really want to read the unabridged version soon. I bought the ebook a while back, so I’m determined. It might be one of these novels I’ll need to read while I also have another book I’m reading at the same time.

🐍 I’m a Slytherin. Sometimes, people don’t believe me when I say it, but it’s true. When I took the Pottermore quiz years ago, it’s the first house I got. However, I didn’t believe it then, so I sorted myself into Ravenclaw because I thought it was a better fit for me. But often, I’d think back on it, and wonder. About three years ago, I was talking about Hogwarts houses with classmates and that’s when I realized I actually was a Slytherin. I took the test again, and many quizzes after that, and I pretty much always got Slytherin. It just felt right the more I thought about it.

☕ I love tea. Funny thing is, I hated it growing up. I’d tried a few times to drink it, and no. My favourite warm drink was hot chocolate, always. My best friend loves tea, and when I went to see her one day, I asked her to make me a cup of her favourite tea. I was 19, and I loved it. Since then, I drink tea every day, and if you’d ask me to choose between coffee, tea and hot chocolate, I’d pick tea every time.

✏️ I’m trying to write a novel. I’ve tried to since I was 10, but I never managed to finish one. At some point, I’d told myself I’d have written a novel by the age 21. Spoiler alert: I’m 25, and I still haven’t. Yet. And that’s okay. I have an idea and characters I love right now, and I’m trying to work on it as well as practice my writing because I haven’t written much in the last few years. I’m hopeful.

🎵 I love Taylor Swift. I’ve been listening to her music since her second album, Fearless, came out and I’m always excited when she releases a new album. Right now, I’m listening to a few of her albums on my way to and from work and I love it.

  1. I’ll have to look those games up as I’d really like to start playing more video games sometime! And I love tea too although I feel like I have forever. I did used to have sugar in it but I gave it up one year and now I can’t stand the taste of it with it in instead /:

Also good luck with your novel! I’m sure you’ll get there one day.

      • I will 😀 If I ever end up with the wrong person’s tea and it has sugar in I can’t drink it :L although my strongest memory of tea with sugar is at one of my grandparents where the tea tasted vile and I thought sugar would help… it didn’t. No idea what tea that was /:

  2. Ahh I love reading these kind of posts, thank you for sharing Noémie ❤ I'm certain you'll get back to writing and will find yourself with a full novel someday. These things take so much time sometimes, I know what I'm talking about haha, but if you believe in your story and characters, you can do this. I'll be rooting for you ❤
Thank you so much for the nomination! ❤

  3. Thank you so much for tagging me, Noémie!! I loved reading all your facts. I’m also a Slytherin so it’s nice to meet a fellow one. I took the test like you and got many different answers, but it’s just something that feels right. I’m also a big tea drinker too, and best of luck for your novel!!

  4. I am in Slytherin, too, and I wish more people would admit that they are in Slytherin. It does not mean anything bad, but I have to admit I am attracted to all the “dark stuff” 🙂 Les Misérables by Victor Hugo is definitely worth reading. A great book and a true classic.

  6. I love this tag because I think it’s so much fun to learn more about the bloggers I’m constantly interacting with! I think the contrast between the time it took you to decide on your 2 tattoos is really funny! I’m glad you’re happy with both of them though!

And my friend also really wanted to read Les Miz since she loved the movie and the soundtrack so much. So for her birthday a few years ago I found the most beautiful edition and gave it to her as present, since I find that I always read classics faster when they have beautiful covers!

Thank you so much for tagging us! I think it will be a lot of fun trying to figure out 7 interesting facts about myself!

    • I loved getting to know bloggers more as well! ♥ It was funny, I laughed at myself a lot with that one. I’m usually so indecisive, but this once… Which is partly why I knew it was the right one for me because I was so sure from the start!

That is such a sweet gesture and present! I admit I bought an ebook copy, mostly because I will not be walking around with a 1000+ pages book haha

And of course! I’ve been following your blog since I started, and it’s a joy! You’re both so lovely, so I had to tag you!

  7. reading about your experience with Dragon Age and Mass Effect along with how you got your two tattoos was so sweet 😍 also, it’s so amazing that ur planning to read an unabridged Les Mis because that book is *massive* and I respect everyone who read it from start to finish. also, i currently hate tea and my favorite hot drink *is* hot chocolate, but now you’re making me think that this is just the hating tea of my life.
